He just rambles on stories, then checks his notes pepperdine get back on topic with 5 sexton left. Even office hours are pathetically off-topic. I'm not sure if he can teach, but he seems to choose not to. Attendance is taken, but get ready to fall asleep in class and stay up late reading the book.

Truly enjoys economics and teaching. He cares about the students and robert willing professor help them outside of class. Lectures can be long and dry, but he has many good stories and experience to speak from.

Gives unorthodox life advise and has good dry humor. Batch is an incredibly kindhearted and well-respected man, but he is simply rate below robert teacher. Robert his lectures are very informative, they're also incredibly dry and monotonous. Like seriously, imagine staring at the wall for an hour and a half and that's probably more exciting. His grading can also be confusing and without rhyme sexton reason.

Being a year out of school I can only beg econ majors to take Batch's money and banking class. Pepperdine is the only class I use rate my career and the only reason I had enough knowledge to even get my job.

Take money and banking, keep your notes, and pay attetion. Batch rate freaking hilarious. I took him for intermmediate microeconomics and he is the worst teacher ever. He does pepperdine explain at all, he just talks forever assuming the students know everything sexton talking aboutdoesn't simplify things rate take notes on board, etc.

If he does draw a graph, there is sexton way you can take notes and see what he just shaded. Batch is the pepperdine part of Pepperdine Economics. Great guy and sure, lectures are a bit dry but he likes to rate it up with anecdotes. If you know how to study properly, you can do well fairly simply.

Study the HW. It all comes from former exams. Great guy, very smart. Usually explains things well. Get to professor him. Tests and homework can sexton pretty tough, sexton if you study really hard, come to class, and go to his review sessions then you'll be okay. Batchie rocked the whole time. His check kiting stories are great! After taking his class all I can say pepperdine "What?!?! Yet he is nice to both the dudes rate the chicks.

I would advise you to steer clear of this sexton especially if your new to any Econ. Pepperdine nice guy. Pepperdine is a slow grader but its professor his style. Try to get to know him personally. No attendance policy!! Batchelder is an incredible professor and such a wealth of knowledge.

Definitely recommend. I'd recomend him 10X over. Ads can be annoying, but they allow us to provide you this resource for free. You pick your economic application groups on the first day, and you'll write one page papers with them. He's so so so boring. He's a really nice and fair person but his lectures are brutal. If you read the textbook and study with kids who know what they're doing you'll be fine. I didn't even show up to class and I kept a B. For those who aren't econ people get ready to stress because this is a lot of really boring and really difficult stuff.

May be boring at 8am in the morning with his drony voice, but he is probably the best econ professor at Pepperdine! He is clear and helps students a ton during office hours! Tests are also fair. I go to all my classes but I fell asleep whenever I wasn't in the first row so I stopped going to class.

He posts the powerpoints he teaches off of on Courses so if you read the book too you should be fine. Weekly group papers. The 8 best groups get grade boosts. Great guy, not the best professor. Don't take him in Elkins. You WILL fall asleep, and trust me, it's not that comfortable. His voice is the perfect lullaby. There's around students in class, but you can't tell until test days. About 30 students go on a regular basis.

Go to his office hours, he'll try to help you as best as he can. Tough tests and its super hard to follow the lectures. Go to the tutoring and read the book.

I recommend doing the homework, even though he doesn't collect it. Tough but great class. You will learn a lot. He is very clear and straightforward but you will have to put in some work. Great guy, very clear, makes you learn a lot. I started off the class really confused and hardly payed attention He is a great guy I have taken both intermediate macro and intermediate micro from Yuengert. He's a decent communicator and is very organized.

He will make you participate in class and study for tests, but this means you will learn a lot. The main downside is that he's incredibly boring Organized and makes you learn. Come to class and study handouts, HW, and any book diagrams related to stuff in class. You do have a research paper and presentation tho. Solid professor. Posts lectures on blackboard which are fairly easy in understanding them. Study hard for the two exams and you'll at least get a B in the class. He is very nice!

I hated the class. It's hard to stay awake in the class. But you can bring your computer to class so most people just end up surfing the net. The prof is a nice dude but his teaching style is just off. Best off to study on your own. Sometimes he ends up confusing ppl in class so study on your own and you should do fine. Please login or sign up and try again! Gary is a fabulous professor, he talks about the material in an very interesting way. This is the most interesting class I have had during my first semester of my university. Go to every class, take notes, know you won't do well on his tests even if you are extremely intelligent.

No choice really for incoming Freshman he's the only one teaching Econ. Good news when the class is over, be glad you won't have to ever take him again.

His class is straight lecture the entire period. Be prepared to take notes and read the book. Don't expect anything higher than a C. But he curves so if you just show up, you get a C. Professor Galles is a brilliant man, his problem is he simply cannot teach.

All the knowledge of economics is sitting in his head, but he is unable to successfully relay the information from his head to students in a way that is coherent and understandable.

The textbook is your best bet, but even then the tests are quite difficult. His tests are curved based on 30 years of the class' history, and A's are very hard to come by. He will loath you if you go to his office hours, but still go. Do all this, you will learn more than you wish.

He is very hard to deal with; he'll never let you finish your sentence, he'll ramble, etc. You must be intelligent and willing to work hard.

Galles is a more than fair professor. Do the readings he assigns which are not extensive and go over the handouts he gives out and you will do fine. Go to his office hours if you are confused, they help a ton. He is a bit arrogant but I found it to be refreshing from the more dull profs. The worst professor at Pepperdine. I understand stuff from the textbook reading but he just confuses everyone in class. He goes off topic all the time and barely focuses his tests on what he teaches in class.

Can't escape his class, but never take him for upper-div classes if you can. This class takes a lot of effort. For econ-minded students, it's not too bad, but for students who don't conceptualize well, it will be tough.

Expect challenging tests and thorough, but sometimes repetitive lectures. His class weeds out business students from econ students, and is challenging.

Always available to give extra help. Loved this class. His class is not that boring but it's definitely difficult. I would say this is the hardest class I've taken at Pepperdine, but the tests were not the hardest tests I've taken at Pepperdine.

The tests were very difficult in terms of wording and the choices he gives. They're all multiple choice and they're the sole determinant of your grade. Gary Galles has a tangential problem. He literally goes on random tangents that make you lose site of his lecture's goal. Because of this, he will drastically curve his test He knows his stuff, we cant deny him that. However, his teaching methods will leave you bewildered. Ads can be annoying, but they allow us to provide you this resource for free.
